Daily Freeman: Town of Ulster wants power plant developer to post responses to opponents’ concerns

Jennifer Metzger, co-founder of the group Citizens for Local Power and a member of the Rosendale Town Board, said the state regulations being touted by the developer to promote the project actually will serve downstate communities.
“What it essentially does is pay these guys a lot more money to come into our territory to provide capacity,” she said. “We don’t believe we need that right here in our area. It is all serving to reduce peak demand downstate, where the population centers are.”
