Attend the PSC hearing on energy affordability!

The PSC is holding hearings to get public input on energy affordability and proposed reforms to its low-income programs, which have failed to stem the tide of utility shut-offs of electricity to customers unable to pay their bills (277,000 households) and customer arrearages totally $765 million statewide.  The hearings for the Central Hudson service territory will be held on Thursday, September 24, at Poughkeepsie Town Hall (1 Overocker Road), at two different times, and will be preceded by information sessions: a 2 pm information session followed by a 3 pm Public statement hearing; and a 6 pm information session followed by a 7 pm public statement hearing. At the information sessions, PSC Staff will present its recommended reforms—the result of a proceeding the PSC launched in January of this year.

We need a big turnout at the Poughkeepsie public hearing! For more information, see CLP’s press release here, and read this brief overview of the REV, with talking points, by AGREE.
