The NYS DEC last week issued a Positive Declaration in the State Environmental Quality Review of the Pilgrim pipelines application. The next step will be the Scoping process, which will give the public and local governments the opportunity to weigh in on potential impacts of the project to their communities. CLP and 200 other organizations sent a letter to the NYS DEC calling on the lead agencies to provide a minimum 90-day public comment period and public hearings in EVERY affected county. The Towns of Rosendale and New Paltz and the Ulster County Legislature adopted resolutions calling for the same, as are other municipalities along the route.
