The campaign against the takeover of Central Hudson by Canadian holding company Fortis, Inc., has energized mid‐Hudson municipalities. Among those invited to participate in the press conference are the mayors and supervisors of the seven municipalities that have voted unanimously to oppose the takeover, and other public officials who have spoken out against it.
Citizens for Local Power will present a detailed brief filed with the Public Service Commission (PSC). The brief details the legal precedent and factual background that prove the Joint Proposal by Central Hudson and Fortis, Inc., offers no significant public benefit and would have damaging long‐term effects on the energy distribution system serving New York and New Yorkers.
