CLP will hold a free public workshop, “New York’s Changing Energy System: A Path to Local Power,” on Saturday, June 27, (9:30 am – 12:30 pm) at SUNY New Paltz (Student Union, Room 100 N). The event will provide an overview of New York’s energy system and major State reforms underway (the “REV”), and will present a roadmap for localizing control of energy through Community Choice Aggregation (CCA). Guest Speaker Karl R. Rábago (Executive Director, Pace Energy and Climate Center; former Texas Public Utility Commissioner, and Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy) will kick the program off with welcoming remarks.
At the event, CLP will discuss its proposal for developing a CCA in Ulster County, as well as opportunities to become involved in the project. Catskill Mountainkeeper is co-sponsoring the event and the Center for Research, Regional Education and Outreach (CRREO) at SUNY New Paltz is hosting it.
