Free to attend. Just show up! Andy Murphy Center Saturday June 8 10am-6pm

From the One Fair website:

A community-centered sustainability gathering

When you connect with the Earth, you connect with everything that is connected to the Earth.

One Fair is the Hudson Valley’s premier exhibition of products, services, technologies and ideas that promote sustainability, community health, and harmony with the planet; focusing on environmentally-conscious innovation, as well as empowering local communities to be healthy and vibrant.

A full-system approach to upholding the health of our Hudson Valley and our Earth

Innovation

A modern county fair, we bring together the best and brightest of our regional renewable energy and sustainability industries to showcase their work to the public. By connecting Hudson Valley residents with the creative solutions they need, we are building a strong economy, growing local businesses, and spreading information, making 3.8 million Hudson Valley residents aware that they have access to so many Earth-friendly products and initiatives.

Community

Supporting the growth of our smallest economies, our communities and neighborhoods and households, so that we can rely less on an impersonal and destructive global economy.

Individuals are not separate from their environment, but rather they are an essential piece of it. When we heal our self, we heal our environment, our world. One Fair brings together organizations that help people live healthily and happily in their private lives, so that each may contribute to a sustainable whole. We empower our local community so that it may sustain us.

Newburgh Public Forum: Speak Out Against Proposed Central Hudson Rate Hikes

Central Hudson (Fortis) has proposed a new rate plan for 2017-2018 that contains a number of questionable spending items and calls for an increase in fixed charges to customers - already the highest in the state - as well as a new type of residential customer charge. The Public Service Commission is holding public hearings on this plan in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Newburgh. This is the chance to make our voices heard! Information sessions will be held one hour prior to each hearing.

Information Sessions: 2pm & 6pm
Public Hearings: 3pm & 7pm

We need to fill the room and make our voices heard!

Click here for CLP's FAQs on this proposal. For CLP's suggested talking points, email contact@citizensforlocalpower.org.

Please help spread the word! A big turnout at these hearings will send a powerful message to Central Hudson and the PSC.

If you cannot attend one of the public hearings, you can submit comments directly on the PSC website for Case Numbers 17-E-0459 and 17-G-0460. Click on the “Post Comments” button in the top right of the page.

Tell the PSC We Want R.E.A.L. Energy Reform: Renewable, Equitable, Accountable, Local!

Governor Cuomo and the PSC are changing NYS’s utility regulations, affecting everything from energy ownership rules and solar rebates to electricity rates and shut-off procedures. This major overhaul, called REV (Reforming the Energy Vision), could help our communities transform to a locally-based clean energy economy that creates jobs—but only if we step up and DEMAND it!
